Trump Defies Critics With Record Approval Surge

President Donald Trump just silenced critics with his highest approval rating yet—55 percent—according to a new Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll, a six-point jump since July.

Analysts credit the surge to his tough stance on crime and steady economic results. Trump’s August 11 executive order deploying federal troops to Washington, D.C. brought striking outcomes: violent crime dropped 39 percent, robberies 57 percent, and car thefts 35 percent compared to last year. While some opposed the move, most Americans support it, strengthening his law-and-order image.

The economy has also boosted confidence. The U.S. expanded 3.3 percent in the second quarter, inflation stayed steady, and both consumer spending and personal incomes rose. Wall Street reflected the momentum with five new S&P 500 records in August.

Unlike many politicians, Trump skipped a summer break, remaining at the White House to focus on crime, the economy, and diplomacy. He met Putin in Alaska on August 15, then hosted Zelensky and European leaders to push for a Ukraine peace deal.

Rumors about his health have not dented public support. Doctors attribute his mild leg swelling to a benign condition and bruised hand to routine handshakes and aspirin use. At 79, Trump is defying age and political gravity, entering September with record approval and renewed momentum.
