A Shower Surprise: A Lesson in Thinking Twice
Fresh out of the shower, a woman was startled by the sound of the doorbell. Her husband was about to hop in, so she quickly wrapped herself in a towel and rushed to answer.
Standing at the door was their neighbor, Bob. Without any hesitation, Bob made an offer that caught her off guard:
“I’ll give you $800 to drop the towel.”
For a moment, she hesitated. But $800 was no small sum, and the deal seemed too good to pass up. So, she dropped the towel, grabbed the cash, and closed the door behind him.
When she returned upstairs, her husband casually asked, “Who was at the door?”
“Oh, it was Bob,” she said nonchalantly.
Her husband raised an eyebrow. “Did he mention the $800 he owes me?”
The woman froze. She had just unknowingly accepted the money her husband was expecting from Bob, thinking it was a spontaneous offer.
