Barack and Michelle Obama acknowledge going through ‘hard times’ while addressing divorce rumors head-on

Barack and Michelle Obama Address Divorce Rumors Together

Barack and Michelle Obama have publicly addressed recent rumors about their marriage falling apart. The couple has been married for 31 years and shares two daughters: Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24.

Handling High-Profile Pressure

Barack served two terms as president from 2009 to 2017. Such a demanding role would strain even the strongest relationships. Yet, the Obamas remained steadfast throughout his presidency and beyond.

Divorce Rumors Surface Nearly a Decade Later

Although Barack left office almost ten years ago, divorce rumors have only recently gained traction. Michelle has responded to these theories several times, but now the couple has tackled the issue together.

Michelle Opens Up on Her Podcast

Barack recently appeared on Michelle’s podcast, IMHO, which she co-hosts with her brother Michael. Michelle addressed the rumors head-on, saying, “Folks think we’re divorced.”

She added, “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man. We’ve had some really hard times, but also lots of fun and adventures. I’ve become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”

Barack Gets Emotional

Barack grew emotional at Michelle’s words, joking, “Don’t make me cry right at the beginning of the show. Don’t let me start tearing up now.”

Early Parenting Days Strengthened Their Bond

Michelle also recalled the early days of their marriage and parenting. She praised Barack for being “an engaged father from the minute they were born.”

“He wasn’t the kind of man who said, ‘I don’t do this, I don’t change diapers, hand them to me when they talk,’” she said.

Michelle explained they shared parenting duties equally when Malia was a baby. “Because we shared that responsibility, Barack developed a deep relationship with the girls that continues today.”

Michelle’s Past Comments on Their Marriage

Earlier this year, Michelle appeared on the Diary of a CEO podcast. She insisted, “If I was having problems with my husband, everyone would know about it.”

She acknowledged marriage can be tough but said she wouldn’t trade theirs for anything. “Barack is my person,” she affirmed.

A Strong Partnership After 31 Years

Despite rumors and challenges, Barack and Michelle Obama continue to show a united front, emphasizing their enduring love and partnership.
